what is tech abuse?

Technology-facilitated abuse, or tech abuse, is a general term that encompasses misuses of technology generally in domestic violence.

Tech abuse is so harmful and common because it is often invisible. You may not know you are being watched, evidence is hard to justify to court, and survivors are shamed, stereotyped, or not taken seriously.

5 facets of tech abuse I focused on were intimate partner violence (IPV), harassment, sexting/revenge porn, human trafficking, and child sexual abuse.

How can we design a kit for therapy for victims of tech abuse?

How can we design a kit for awareness for the general public who may not be aware of tech abuse?

FULL DESIGN BRIEF

why this works

[the house we don't see] addresses a main problem of technology-facilitated abuse; in that it is invisible and/or not taken seriously.

It feels universal and centers storytelling and lived experiences. This structure transforms awareness into action, helping people not only recognize invisible harms, but also leave with clear next steps for protecting themselves.
